Old Naming Pattern
The 1st son was named after father's father
The 2nd son was after the mother's father
The 3rd son was after the father
The 4th son was after the father's eldest brother
The 1st daughter after mother's mother
The 2nd daughter after the father's mother
The 3rd daughter after the mother
The 4th daughter after the mother's eldest sister
This was a common tradition for naming children but was not used by all. It often gives a clue as to the name of the grandparents who identities are often elusive.
